Our K9 unit has received a $1000 grant from the AKC CAR Canine Support and Relief Fund that is earmarked to fund a K9 training event later this year. We are excited that the AKC recognizes the efforts we are making in K9 SAR. The AKC established The American Kennel Club Companion Animal Recovery Corporation Canine Support and Relief Fund in a continuing commemoration of the heroism of the SAR teams who served following 9/11 as a charitable fund to support professional and volunteer canine search and rescue organizations throughout the United States.
