Support Members:
Support team members participate in the units search and rescue operations in some capacity other than as an Operational Member. Support team members may serve in the field under the supervision or as the flanker of an operational member. Support members must pass the NASAR SAR-TECH III written certification test and achieve NIMS certifications as defined for compliance.Operational and support members may be called on at any time to participate in the search for a missing person. In the rain, cold, or middle of the night - these volunteers respond to calls that may be of an urgent, life-saving nature.
Our members agree to:
Consider their work a serious professional commitment and view the position as valid and important.
Follow the position description and accept supervision.
Be prompt and reliable in reporting for scheduled time.
Dress in an appropriate manner.
Communicate with supervisor to resolve any concerns.
Become familiar with TRUSAR history, mission, programs, and protocol in order to be an informed ambassador for TRUSAR.
A member may expect to:
Work at a position that is worthwhile & challenging
Have the position defined through a position description and receive orientation/training.
Receive sufficient training with clear directions from their supervisor
Receive support from the member coordinator to resolve differences between the member and another member.
Be given the respect and courtesy afforded all members.
